ill titleTom Chandler's Bio

Tom Chandler, an Arkansas native, was educated in Oklahoma and graduated with a degree in Business. Tom owned and operated retail stores for eighteen years, and has owned and operated Chandler and Associates Interiors since 1980. In 1981, he began teaching Interior Design and two years later, opened the Chandler School of Interior Decorating in Little Rock, AR. The school offers a twelve week course with three semesters, annually. Course highlights are lectures and discussion, tours of homes and supply houses, slide presentations of Chandler projects, guest speakers, and the opportunity to apprentice with the Chandler firm. Among the topics addressed during the course are the following: Placement of furniture, accessories, and art; selection of paint, paper, and fabric; patterns, textures, balance; and lighting design. In addition to the classes, a student field trip to Dallas is offered for a tour of the World Trade Center and various Chandler projects.

Mr. Chandler's firm employs a team of designers and support staff, who regularly oversee fifty to seventy-five ongoing projects. Clients span the country, ranging from Arkansas to Hawaii, North Carolina, Maryland, Washington D.C., California, Florida, Tennessee, Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and all points in between. The firm has been honored to participate, annually, in the Arkansas Symphony Designer House, since 1980.

One of the state's leading interior decorators, Tom continues to give, generously, of his time, talent, and treasures, in support of many worthwhile charitable organizations and foundations in the community.

The team looks forward to their opportunities to travel with Tom as he presents Interior Decorating Seminars in other states. Participants are treated to the creation of "a miracle in a day" as they view both the "before" and "after" phases of a current project in a client's home, with Tom's educational and entertaining presentation, included.

Although his work schedule keeps him quite busy, beginning each work day at 5:00 a.m., he always finds the time to help others, when asked. Tom is very proud of his two grown sons, and adored grandchildren.
